Novels of the Appalachian hills and the Shenandoah Valley, prophetic suspense, and books for the Christian life, from a pastor with more than fifty years in ministry.
Prologue
About Larry Arrowood
He was born on the Cumberland Plateau of Eastern Kentucky and learned his letters in a one-room schoolhouse. Those hills, and the people in them, run all through his novels. For more than forty years he has served The Tabernacle in Seymour, Indiana, and his books for the Christian life come straight out of that pulpit.

The pastor
From a one-room schoolhouse to the pulpit.
Larry Arrowood first came to The Tabernacle in Seymour as assistant pastor in 1972. He returned in 1982 as the first executive vice president of Indiana Bible College, founded what is now Sandy Creek Christian Academy, and in 1989 became the church’s lead pastor.
Under his leadership the church and school grew onto one campus at Sandy Creek, and a new church building opened on Father’s Day 2026. This November he hands the lead pastorate to his son, Aaron, and stays on in ministry at the church.
The publisher
Woodsong Publishing
Larry founded Woodsong Publishing in Seymour to put Christian books with a message into print: his own, and those of authors who had a message to share but no way past the gatekeepers of traditional publishing.
The name came from home. Until recently a woods bordered the Arrowoods’ back property, and in the early morning its sounds were an inspiration, especially to a writer.
